Julie Loves Hockey
When Julie Robenhymer, a former Miss New Jersey, walks into the press box at any given hockey game across the nation, one might take a look at her and instantly decide without hesitation that she’s there for “other” reasons. In fact, Julie herself admits that when she’s in public, many to believe that she’s not a real hockey enthusiast. They couldn’t be more wrong.
An avid fan of the game, Julie’s video blog on www.hockeybuzz.com, simply entitled “Julie Loves Hockey”, has become a staple of internet based hockey related multimedia, as she has gained a following among fans amazed by not only her beauty, but brains that go along with it. Any press boxes she walks into, as previously mentioned, better have their stats in check, before Julie rattles off a laundry list of information that could leave almost anyone in awe.
“Some people have told me I’m more sassy in person,” Julie said of her encounters with fans of her blog, which is updated almost daily. That assumption is warranted, as Julie’s daily look into the world of both collegiate and professional hockey is well done and edited personally by her; an interesting tidbit, especially considering her rigorous traveling schedule that had led some of her fans to even try and guess what hotel she blogs from on the road.
Having a UMass graduate who has attained success in the field of Journalism that she has always wanted to work in was a very inspirational talk, for myself personally. Being a fan of boxing, Julie’s attitude upon graduation that led her to pursue her dreams and nothing less gives me confidence that my passion for the Sweet Science could potentially lead me to a position I’d enjoy in the future. Her concentration in Sport Management as to fulfill her minor was also incredibly uplifting, as that is the degree I am pursuing as well; one that I had yet to hear of from anyone but myself.
Julie Robenhymer loves hockey, and has translated her love into a position of recognition within the sport. As a Journalist, isn’t that what we all want?
